News from the Ellington's in Cairo

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you who gave toward the Mobility for Mission in Ellington FamilyEgypt fund during 2007 to let you know that, two days ago, we received the car!  We feel extremely thankful to all of you and your churches.  The car is a 2008 Toyota Corolla, owned by the seminary but set aside for our use.  The best thing is that it has 7 air bags and other safety features.  It seems like the perfect car for our needs, living in the country that has the world’s highest fatality rate per mile driven.  Before two days ago, I had been taking taxis and buses almost every day.  Taxis have no seatbelts and I’ve had a number of close calls in the past few years.  With buses, sometimes one has to jump in and jump out in the midst of traffic while the bus is still moving.  I’m glad that’s over!  In addition to making a big difference in how safe we are, the car will also make life much more convenient and be a time saver.  You might also be interested in knowing that the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s website is currently highlighting our ministry here with a short video clip.  Feel free to share it with your mission committees and anyone else who might be interested.  You can find it in the upper right hand corner of the page.

As a family we continue to be excited to live and minister in Egypt.  Sherri and I continue to feel as though we landed in a place full of wonderful opportunities for ministry.  We are grateful to you for your partnership with us!

Yours in Christ,
Dusty, Sherri, Clayton and Christopher
